A prayer for the artist in 2024

May you find the courage to be powerful

May you know beyond any shadow of doubt that you were made for this moment -frightening though it may be. And there are a million reasons to be afraid right now. To want a little less. To make less noise. To rethink what you know that you know. But nah...

May every aspersion cast in your direction return to sender. And may you safely detach from those who throw even the tiniest stones and hide their hands.  May you know loving relationships that remind you that God is good and Love is everlasting and Love can generate color and wonder and and and...

May you gather every bit of discipline and focus necessary to create what is needed in the Now Time, for the people. May you live to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of living. I pray that for every ounce of bitterness you endure as you battle to deliver your art, you'll know the sweetness of perseverance and reward ten times over.

We're here for a purposed time, not a long time. May we spend it in loving community, arms open beneath the sun. Flowers in our hair. Belting prayers and musical numbers atop tables. You were made for this moment. May you know this deeply and may it propel you.

That is my prayer for you. ✨
